In previous show we have talked quite a bit about how important it is to have claimed your Google Places listing. Just to refresh; Google Places Listings are the first results popping up now on the first page of the search results after someone searches for your business category. If your customers see you there you will get phone calls. It’s that simple.
Setting up your Online Directory Listings is an important part of making sure your business comes up in the top seven. That’s because Google Places uses the information from the Online Directories to rank you higher.
I have good news. These Online Directories are free. However, it’s important to know they may try to up-sell you to monthly packages. So far, in our experience, it’s not necessary to have the paid version of the Directories.
3 Online Directory Strategies
- Keep a spreadsheet of your business information to use and keep it consistent on all the Directories
- Fill out your business profile completely as possible
- Update your profiles with fresh pictures and other information monthly or quarterly at a minimum
